The Bible
We believe that the very words of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments are divinely inspired (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21). As such they are inerrant and infallible and serve as our sole authority for faith and practice (John 10:35).
God
We believe in one true God eternally existing in three persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit, co-eternal and co-equal in power and glory (Deuteronomy 6:4, John 17:3, Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14, 1 Peter 1:2).
Man
We believe that man was created in the image of God, by the direct act of God on the sixth day of creation (Genesis 1:26-27; 2:7). God created man sinless and innocent. As a result of his disobedience, man incurred both physical and spiritual death. Men are universally sinful and will endure eternal punishment if not saved (Genesis 1:26, 27; 2:7-3:24; 2 Samuel 12:23; Psalm 51:5; Matthew 18:10-14; Revelation 20:14, 15).
Sin
We believe that sin is lack of conformity to God’s Law (1 John 3:4). The essence of sin in man is his propensity toward self-centeredness (Isaiah 53:6; 2 Timothy 3:2). We believe that Adam’s sin is imputed to every human being that is born (Psalm 51:5; Romans 3:10; 1 Corinthians 15:22).
Salvation
We believe that the salvation of sinners is wholly by grace through faith alone in the shed blood of Jesus Christ, and that all who receive Him as Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit and become children of God (Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:29; 1 John 2:2; Isaiah 53:4-12).
The Church
We believe that Jesus Christ is the founder (Ephesians 2:20), builder (Matthew 16:17-18), and Head of the church (Colossians 1:18). We believe this universal body also manifests itself on a local level (Acts 14:23). We believe the purpose of the church is to glorify God by exalting Christ, evangelizing the lost, and edifying the saints (Ephesians 3:20-21; Acts 1:8; Ephesians 4:11-12). We believe that the local church is the primary means through which God is working in this age.
