Colossians 3:2 Resources

If you've got some spare time in your life, the apostle Paul's words are especially poignant: "Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth" (Col. 3:2). Here are some resources to that end.

For Adults

  • A PDF copy of Puritan minister John Flavel's "A Practical Treatise on Fear"
  • The testimony of quadriplegic Joni Eareckson Tada, “A Deeper Healing
  • Dispatches from the Front - "Currently, there are eight episodes available by streaming—including “Day of Battle” (North Africa), which has just been added to our streaming options! From now until May 1, 2020, each of these 8 episodes will be available for 48-hour rental for just $1. Simply go to https://www.dispatchesfromthefront.org/ and use the code DispatchesFromHome at checkout to get these $1 rentals."
  • Free audiobook access to Jim Berg's When Trouble Comes.
  • Corrie ten Boom's testimony as presented by a strikingly good representation of her at Answers in Genesis. A 45-minute talk that "Corrie" presents, it's not inappropriate for young listeners (beyond their attention spans:-).
  • Charles Wesley's "And Can It Be" set to a new, more contemplative tune sung by all men. Be freshly encouraged by being reminded of God's greatest of all goodnesses to those who are "in Christ."
  • Your choice of a free mini-book from 9Marks in the form of an audiobook or ebook. The books are available here. (Titles include What Should I Do Now That I'm a Christian? Why Should I Join a Church? What If I'm Discouraged in My Evangelism? What I if Don't Desire to Pray? and How Can I Love Church Members with Different Politics?.)

For Children

  • Free audiodrama for children (and still rather engaging for adults), "Frozen Fire," put out by Bible-based group Lamplighter Ministries
  • Computer animated film of The Pilgrim's Progress
    • Parents of young children will want to preview the movie as it has some potentially frightening scenes.

Some of these resources will be posted as appropriate in our other online resources following this unique time.
